The Tampa Bay beauty industry, however, has embraced Instagram with great success; hair salons specifically are doing exceptionally well. As New Year’s resolutions are in full-swing, it’s an opportune time for local vanity-centric businesses to target those creating their #NewYearNewMe look.

Personally, whenever I need a haircut I just Google Map the nearest Supercuts, much to the horror of my fiancé. Hosting the College Football Playoff National Championship is an honor for any city; and it can be lucrative as well.  Tampa looked to bring in close to $300 million to its economy. These high profile games provide a great opportunity for local businesses.

One simple way to tap into the financial potential of the event was through social media.  So why didn’t more local businesses capitalize on it?

The Social Media Highs and Lows of #NewYear2017

Welcome back from the long holidays and happy new year! New Year’s Eve (NYE) is a truly global holiday, one that is celebrated across different creeds and nationalities. Chances are you, like millions of others, probably looked at social media during NYE. Perhaps you Instagrammed your night, took a snap of your outfit, or tweeted resolutions.
